Luiz Bolognesi wrote and directed the animation picture A Story of Love and Fury (2013), winner of the Crystal Award for Best Picture in the Annecy Animation Film Festival, laureated in the Film Festivals of Tokyo, Shanghai, Athens, Strasbourg, Buenos Aires, and by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema. He is the director and screenwriter of the documentary Ex-Shaman (2018), which was granted with an Honorable Mention by the juries of the Berlin Film Festival and the Chicago Film Festival. The film was also awarded the Critic’s Association Prize of the It’s All True Documentary Festival.
He has directed and co-directed films such as Peter and the Lord (1996), Cine Mambembe, Cinema Discovers Brazil (1999), São Paulo’s War (2002), and the series To fight.doc (2010), Youth Connected (2016), and Guerras do Brasil.doc (2019). He wrote and co-wrote the films Brainstorm (2000), Two World in Two Round Trips (2007), The Ballroom (2007), Birdwatchers (2008), The Best Things in the World (2010), Amazon, The green planet (2014), Elis (2016), and Bingo – The King Of The Morning (2017). His projects have been awarded countless national and international prizes and were screened in countries of six continents.
